HYDROPOL
Water retaining polymer granules which are able to absorb up to several hundred times their weight in water. HYDROPOL is added to composts and growing mixtures in hanging baskets and planters acting as mini reservoirs holding water and making it available to plant roots.
HYDROPOL HC
HYDROPOL HC is a superabsorbent water retaining product in a fine powder form. It is used to prepare root dip gels, as a transplanting aid, as a direct additive to composts and growing media and as a moisture retaining layer under turf. Being in a fine powder form it offers a smoother more adhesive gel structure for root dipping and better distribution into growing mixes and sand bases compared to conventional water absorbing granular polymers.
HYDROPOL HC is partially biodegradable and encourages biological activity in the root zone which helps nutrient as well as water availability.
APPLICATION
The amount of water the system will hold depends on the water hardness. To prepare 20 litres of gel stir the water and gradually add 130grms of Hydropol HC continuing to stir and thoroughly disperse the powder. Stir again after 10 minutes and at 20 minutes. If gel is too stiff add a little more water.
For composts and potting mixtures add 2 Kilos per cubic metre.
Spread 1.5 kilos per 100M2 and work in the top 2.5cm of soil/sand prior to turfing.
CAUTION
Once made up the gel is very slippery and any spillages must be washed down with water immediately.
HYDROPOL HC- B
HYDROPOL HC-B contains beneficial microbes in addition to the superabsorbent. It is used where low levels of biological activity are expected such as sterile growing mixes or where there is disease potential.
